Anna Popiel, director, writer and translator is a graduate of English Philology (University of Silesia in Katowice) and drama directing (AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow). Director of original monodramas, presented, among others at the “Genius Loci” Festival in Krakow and “Salzig on stage” in Salzburg. She works at the Krakow Opera, where she directed the concerts of the “Song – Theatre of the Word” series, as well as a musical performance for children “Mr. Tralaliński”. She is a prize winner of literary competitions and a translator of fiction from English. Her drama “Nowosielski. Being (in) subtle” was qualified to the semi-finals of the Gdynia Drama Award (2019). Anna Popiel is fascinated by the works of Claudio Monteverdi.
